A History of Government Contracting, by Jim Nagle, is the authoritative source of the history of U.S. procurement. First published in 1992 by The George Washington University Law School, this book covers the history of government contracting from the French and Indian War to 2011. Organized chronologically, it focuses on various historical themes, which illustrates that the procurement problems faced by the United States during its founding are the same problems that plague it today.
